Second Helpings
Second Helpings is a text-based weight gain/feedism dating sim set in a procedurally generated British town full of cute girls to date and fatten.
Features:
- Procedurally generated women with 16 personality archetypes, distinct appearances, dozens of jobs, and a wide pool of interests.
- Fatten girls from slim all the way to immobility.
- A detailed descriptive system helps you picture her changing body, with gain patterns (Apple, Pear, Hourglass, Overall) that determine where she puts on weight.
- Earn XP from successful feedings to unlock powerful upgrades that'll make you the doom of every girl's waistline.
- Sex scenes that change based on the weight, shape, fullness & personality of the girl.
Tips:
- Don't launch straight into feeding a girl you've just met. Win her over first or you'll be rejected.
- Try to guess what locations & conversation topics she might like based on where you met her and how she comes across.
- Avoid taking a girl on the same date twice in a row.
- The game autosaves at the start of each day but you can also create manual saves in the settings (one manual save per town - new overwrites old).
- If you mess things up with a girl, don't worry; there's a late-game upgrade that'll give you another chance with her.

Hey after you implement the next major update features from the voting poll, would you be able to add the option of being able to customize your player appearance without having player weight gain enabled. As well as an option to customize small accessories (ie glasses, necklaces, etc.) on your player and custom girls?
This is one of the best text based games to come out of the game side of this scene. Really enjoyed the new content. One question though, for fattening the country in the later game is there much content? I've gone to about a national rate of 80% but the pace of change has become pretty glacial and needs a alot of clicking, so if there isnt much past this point I'll just save my save for later.
The update to v 3.0 made older savegames unusable because there was so much stuff added. So keeping your 3.x saves for 4.0 might not work.

I'll do my best to make older save games compatible with future releases (there's a save game patching function to add/update missing parameters), but it might not work in all cases unfortunately.
At a national rate of 80% you're getting the top end of the news reports on TV. There are two small flavour stories in the local newspaper for reaching 99%, but I wouldn't recommend grinding it out solely to see those. I might look at adjusting the pace of this at the high end and/or making it more rewarding for hitting 99%.

Hi, I made this account to make comments here because this has to be my favorite game of this genre avaliable; I'd really like it if you could select your caretaker, could be a phone contact or simply choosing from a list of caretaker options.
Suggested the same but for DDD staff, and the dev is positive on it.
So phone contacts for caretakers may also be an option in future.
Thank you! I'm planning on adding something along these lines: you'll be able to ask girls to move in with you and if they're not immobile themselves they will become your carer.
and hose feeding 2 provides exactly the same number of calories as 1
oh, and it doesn't seem to make a difference what I spend on a dizzy's marketing push. 50 bucks gives the same boost as 550.
Not true, i have checked it.
Paying more gives more push but not in a 1:1 ratio.
The more you pay the less bang for the buck you get, which is good because otherwise you could exploit that.
Humble Tip: Paying 3x - 5x the miniumum amount seems reasonable.
a few things: I made an itch account just to comment here. that is as big a compliment as I can give.
I'm surprised you can't hire girls who became unemployed to "work" at dizzy's - either as real employees or to simply sit in the back as "food testers". I actually fired an employee to free a position assuming the girl would appear in the applications queue.
is it possible to tie dialogue in with some kinda chatbot LLM in order to create a variety of responses within a given set of parameters?
it would be fun to create a little set of procedurally generated body shape representations for each of the body types/belly styles at each weight stage and include that with the girls contact slot. you could use the 0-10 range you have for each body area (thighs, belly, arms etc) to set the "size slider" (for lack of a better describer) for that body part to assign a value that would grow with their weight stag. (like a girl who's breast/belly/butt values are 6,8,3 at skinny would be 06,08,03 and become 16,18,13 for chubby). that would introduce a much greater distinct mental association with each girl beyond the existing name and weight. initially my concept for this was headless body representations, but depending on the difficulty, adding heads based on the face type/hair type/hair color would be valuable. in my mind I'm basically picturing a little frame with a chubchompchill character either static or bouncing around within it (which could then remain in a corner of the window if that character is being engaged with on a date)
lastly: I like to cheat in this game. I would not be enjoying this if I couldn't edit the json file to set the amount of money

After the first town i would say there should be a easier way to get XP maybe tied to the towns weight or national, a "nuke" option for the characters that is a special event maybe tied to the donuts also or something like that as a little experiment wich can cost a lot but its garanteed like 100 pounds per use, and for last I wouold say better weight gain loss so it doesnt take like 100 days to just get down 50 pounds

Try hiring just one employee initially to keep costs down. If you're running out of money, don't be afraid to fire all your employees, which will pause all costs. The key to increasing income is raising awareness through marketing. Aim to use each option on cooldown, even if you only use the minimum budget.
^ and also when you start approaching the break-even point don't be afraid to experiment with hiring another employee as your lack of employees may be bottlenecking the amount of transactions happening per day and you can easily recover even if you accrue a bit of debt in the process

I used a second chance on a girl and then she immediately went "this is boring, I'm out" the moment I called her that day, I feel like there should be some kind of grace period here

Sorry! I've looked into it & found a bug that could cause Second Chance to fail. This is now fixed.
I'm curious as to what the updates are- guessing it's nothing especially major given the lack of log.

Having a good laugh at the "watch TV" comments XD - which are nicely pointing out how bleak and mindnumbing this archaic form of entertainment is.
I've been hooked on this game for like a week now. Just unlocked a new town, got 6 girls completely immobile and one of them is almost 2200 lbs.
I wonder if in the future it will be possible to also have male characters in the game and play from a woman's perspective, or be fed.
I could also suggest more scenarios, when approaching a overweight girl, or if you are overweight yourself.
Really glad you're enjoying it. The next update will include female feeders, but at some point, I'll add a toggle when creating a new town that lets you meet male NPCs too (though this won't be added for a while). :)

The Player can visit all the places in town alone. Fitness activities have even more affect when you work out alone!
All the town events can only be attended by pairs.
imho the above should stay that way!
Starting Day Offs alone, plus the opportunity to meet and pick up "special" girls at those locations, would certainly be interesting!
I'm sure there will be more activities for the player alone in future.

Really enjoyed the game. Had many runs going, added many girls from very tall to very short.
However, there weren't big differences between the two. I was hoping the taller girls have larger stomach capacity than their counterparts...
And expected the shorter girls more hesitant in eating larger meals because of their relatively small capacity.
Anyways still enjoying the game! Love it when the care home staffs become residents.
P.S. It be fun to be able to date employees at the donut store!

You're right that height doesn't have much impact right now (it's just used for descriptions of the girls & BMI calculations). Perhaps I could correlate stomach capacity with weight instead of weight stage. Taller girls will naturally be heavier than shorter girls at the same weight stage, so they'd have a larger capacity.
I'll add dating the staff at the doughnut shop in the next update!
It might be too much but, it be fun to have a birthday event and a gifting event! EX) giving the girls flowers, chocolates, rings(?). I know that there's already a chocolate present for the carehouse employees, but I'd like to see a gifting option for the girls for faster Affection level gains.
I could well add something like this in the future. The next update adds a player inventory which would help support it. I could have shops on the high street you can visit to buy gifts & different personalities might like different types of gift.
Noticed that with addicted girls you can still visit DDD when they ask for it, even when the shop is closed.
Also townies gain wieght from DDD addiction, even when the shop is closed.
Not sure if this is in Intended or a little oversight.

Good catch! With DDD, you're just running their shops as part of a franchise deal, so they're actually a much larger operation (which I'll be going into much more in the next update). So addicted girls will still be able to get their fix from a shop in a nearby town or similar. But I think that the description when you're dragged there by an addicted girl needs to be changed to handle this - I'll get that sorted in the next update.
DDD Playaround,
Everything seems to work like intended now when you get the employees back to town via a visit to gentle meadows.
Had an idea that would make the DDD workforce more palyable:
DDD Girls could get added to the contact list as soon as you hire them!
They would behave exactly like other townies then, except they gain weight faster becasue of their beneficial job. (Job description is obvious.)
Their free time could be split between the trio (morning, afternon, evening) so DDD can be open 247. Ofc they also should have their days off, they are not slaves after all ;)
The experience would be more congruent and comprehensible that way imho.
Hope you like some of the above, sure you have planned the lot regarding Dizzy's

Good idea! It would add some more depth and realism to the DDD staff if they had shifts. I'll see if I can include that in the next update, along with adding them to your phone contacts so you can ask them out on dates.
I do have a lot planned for Dizzy's & progress on it is going well, but it might not be what you expect! For anyone who has read my Dizzy's stories, the next update is inspired by the second (while the last update drew from the first and third stories).

What are updates 3.12 & 3.13, minor bugfixes only? Or did they add something to the game?
3.12 fixed some grammar issues I noticed with checking girls out (that resulted from making it work for both players & NPCs and males & females).
3.13 fixed an issue where adding apostrophes or spaces to the name of a custom girl could prevent her functioning correctly.
Big big question. You set up a nice little base for some sort of worldwide fattening, or otherwise. Is making the game global something in the cards? Like we can choose our starting nation/region? Maybe some have different challenges or leisures for fattening. Like the USA is the easiest, and easier to start off with. While countries like Japan are harder?
Or will you keep it focused? It would be really interesting and add some diversity in the game if there were regions that had different difficulties and things you had to look out for!
Wondering if it was something you thought about at all.
Interesting idea. I could add an airport that functions similarly to the train station, but on a country level. I'm open to it, could happen someday!
I think the apostrophe name bug extends to other parts of the game too. Same lack of a response for Call For Date and Favourite. Sorry I didn't bring this to your attention when you found it, due in part to some eye strain problems keeping me offline

Absolutely love the game right now! It would be a cool feature to add another easy way to make money, before the donut shop, maybe some kind of gambling system! Another cool suggestion is to add the ability to have male feedees sense you’ve added male weight gain, I thought it would be cool to add some more for the big boy enjoyers. other than that no comments, the game is a real work of art. Any timeline for when the next big update comes?
Being able to date & feed guys is definitely something I plan on adding in the future! Unfortunately, its the second least popular option in the poll I made, so it won't be an immediate priority.
Some sort of gambling feature could be fun. I'll have a think about it.

The game is looking great right now! It would be a fun feature to add the ability to make social media content with your girls for extra money with certain personalities more willing to do some things than others. Ranging from more basic things like mukbangs, to feeding, to using the tube rig, to doing actual BBW porn which some of the more libertine personality types would support but the others would require a high persuasion score.
Good idea. I'd like to release an update focused on the sex side of things & this could work well in conjunction with that.
Really great game, very impressive for all the procedural gen, I'm loving everything so far! Only recommendation I have is to make the 'pink text' more common in the game (the text where you player character or your dates comment on your player's weight). Dialogue is always the best parts of these games imo, so I think it could be cool if going to locations could trigger dialogue about your character's weight, i.e working a shift while fat could have your boss or co-workers comment, or going to the gym with a fat date you could hear other gym goers comment on her body.
Of course only a suggestion, I'm looking forward to whatever you cook up for the next update.
Environmental dialogue is a really great idea that I hadn't thought about. Thank you, I think I will very likely add this in a future update!
First off, the game is spectacular as a text game, and things being toggle able is very welcome. Second, I really want more personalities- the feedee ones I eagerly await, but so too the normal ones (I have no shame in wanting goth and nerdy women). Another idea might be more interactivity with them over just checking them out or sex - examining parts of them and jiggling or fondling rolls, bellies, and tracing stretchmarks when they're big enough would be immersive and help avoid any homogeneity between girls.
Sliders for body type might also be good, creating a custom body type (such as big everything but small breasts, or really fat arms and ankles compared to their arse) but I understand that takes more work than just templates like "teardrop" and "strawberry".

You're right, more interactivity would help make the weight feel more tangible. I received a similar suggestion to add such interactivity for your own body (if player weight gain is on), so I may add a system that works on both yourself and the girls.
I really like that custom body type idea. I think I'll add it to the Extras menu in a future update. :)
Hello again, I was Fooling around with an auto-clicker and the perfect placement of the watch TV option making a simple time-skip to get quicker to the 100% town obesity level, turns out if you reach 100% and stay for prolonged periods of time, the percentage glitches and goes into negative digits, this does not impede the option to travel to a new town but it does affect the girls you can meet a the town, locking them at high fitness levels.I don't think this is a game breaking bug, but I thought you should know of this

Many thanks for finding that! This should be fixed now & when you reload your save, the town obesity rate should be back at 100%.
For player WG itd be fun to have an item that changes the players weight distribution. Maybe make it a very expensive item! So players can freely change and see different weight options for their character.
Interesting idea! I was thinking about adding some kind of endgame shop that offers special items of that nature.

I noticed something with the Flirtatious personality:

My PC is female, so "handsome" doesn't really make sense. Is it possible to make that gender-dependent?

"Handsome" is officially not a gender-specific word. Could use it for both genders. Strange it is almost exclusively used for men. If used for women it may indicate a boyish appearance.

Love this game so much. I hope that with the addition of PC weight gain that we see feeder personalities that the PC can either indulge or try to fight against. I do wish that we had the option to work all three time slots or the pay raises were a bit higher cuz once you open Dizzie's if you don't have enough funds stockpiled you just eat through all your money with basically no way to make enough to support yourself.
Feeder personalities are currently one of the top most requested features in the poll I'm running, so I think it's very likely that they'll be included in my next update.
There will be four different types of feeder to begin with and their dates will be similar to the current format, except you'll be on the receiving end and have to pass checks to resist their persuasion attempts!
When it comes to running the shop, try starting off with just a single employee until business picks up. Don't be afraid to fire them if money is running low! This halts all running costs, but you keep awareness of the shop for when you reopen and begin another marketing push. Once it starts making a profit, you can put those profits back into marketing and your income can snowball.
Really a fantastic game.
I'm sure it has been ventured forth, and maybe I'm just not far enough along but, it would be cool if the PC could consume Dizzy's Donuts (on their own time without a date)
That's not in the game yet, but is something I'd love to add. Perhaps the player could face persuasion checks that get harder and harder to pass as their addiction to Dizzy's intensifies. Plus flavour text about how much you're craving them!
At some point of addiction you randomly lose a chunk of time to going to dizzy 's and eating donuts. Not cash of course because you own it. I'd also love to see bigger portion options at Dizzy 's...
Have you thought of fleshing out the system a little more? Like upgrades for the place? Otherwise it's super fun.

Second, could it be posible to add multiple levels of the Dizzy´s addiction?
what i mean is different date dialogs while on other places that are not Dizzy´s, and faster weight gain off screen after a certain level.
so for example you take a "super addicted" girl to the cozy cafe and she only talks about donuts or that after the date if you take her to your place, she would ask for a donuts delivery instead of sex,

I like your idea. Perhaps the longer a girl is addicted, the stronger the addiction will become.
I think i may have found a bug. When you are immobile and your girlfriend is also immobile, the game lets you go to the girlfriends house and walk around.

The game is so good been enjoying it alot snice launch and every update has built upon it into a super good game really love everything added in this update especially the mutual gaining and the day trips it's cool to have more to do with the girls and try pick the right spot depending on what the personality will like (if that's how it works) the donut shop is also amazing as it basically makes money making not needed so you can focus on all the girls or gaining the whole
If there's one thing I hope to see in the future:
Being able to buy drinks for the girls and ourselves if mutual as a second option along with food like a pint at the pub to maybe get the girls to open up a little more for bonus relationship xp (like in huniepop), or protein shake in the gym to help build up fitness and help with weight loss if you can't afford the pill or just like a soda to make them burp

I can certainly look at a drinks option. I'm planning on an update to how ordering food works on dates, so it could fit in nicely alongside that.
two things i wish we had:
- an easier way to lose weight, i keep flipping between barely mobile and immobile way too fast >w<
- a sort option for your contacts, so you can sort them by weight, for example!
- You can have a gym or swim seession or a jog alone, then it is a bit more effective.
You can have 3 fitness sessions per day so you can workout quite a bit!
imho weightloss is ok now, was almost impossible in 3.0
Option for weightloss that actually makes you lose fitness comes to mind!

I'm on board for something like medication. I don't like the aesthetic of high fitness, so maintaining my PC's weight to be reasonable has been an exercise in reducing their appeal to me for gameplay reasons. =/
I hear you. I've just released a small update that adds a pharmacy to the High Street Shops town location. You can buy the weight loss medication here to speed your PC's weight loss up. Taking a walk at the park also burns calories without increasing your character's fitness.
I really like the sorting idea & I'll make sure that gets included in the next feature update!

In instances where you just button mash spam to feed caretakers to get them obese its sometimes too tedious. I would like an option to enable a bulk-buy option that would do 3 instances and instantly ends the day! It would be a nice QoL change!
There is a Feeder Upgrade called Staff Room Treats: "All snacks and takeaways given to care assistants provide 100% more calories."
I can definitely take a look at improving this, I would like to reduce repetitive button spam wherever I can.
Quick Review,
The balance between words to read and choices to make is almost perfect in this game - there is always just enough to read to keep the fiction going, enough stats to keep track of, at the same time you are constantly making/clicking choices that really matter!
Then there is the managing part which is rly intuitive and gives you enough hints ingame to know what is going on. Lastly the minigames are actually quick to play and fun!
Incredible how much is packed into this without any part of it becoming too laborious.
Open world -Sandbox -Dating - Weight "Control" -Business/Town Managing -stat building and more!
Quick and intuitive to play, every update so far adding something to enjoy!
(Ps.: Rant about other games alert! Too many text based games exist that give you a multiple pages read and then give you the choice between "yes", "of course" and "sure". Too many games are ruined by tedious lenghty "minigames". )

What is the differentiation between "apple" and "strawberry" body type again?
Btw i'm more into "Pear" and "Teardrop" shapes, which are also hard to distinguish.
Apple is a topheavy bodyshape that biases towards the belly, while strawberry biases towards the breasts. My understanding of pear vs teardrop is similarly that one has a bigger belly emphasis, right? It's like that, though apple is traditionally the "belly shape".
Ok then i lke Strawberry - slender but bubbly breasts can be cool!
